VECTOR PDF TAKEOFF
Turn plotted plan linework into quantities.
Bring suitable vector PDF drawings into GeoSync AI, calibrate the sheet and review construction quantities by layer.
Start with a vector drawing.
A PDF plotted from CAD usually contains paths that software can read. A scanned plan or photo usually contains pixels instead. GeoSync AI’s automatic PDF linework workflow needs supported vector paths; a file ending in .pdf alone does not guarantee a measurable drawing.
Calibrate before you measure.
Use a printed scale or a known dimension and confirm that it matches the uploaded sheet. Check a familiar length before reviewing areas and counts. Resizing or cropping a sheet can change the relationship between paper dimensions and construction dimensions.
Prepare a focused plan set.
The current parser processes up to four PDF pages per file. Split a longer set into relevant sheets. Very dense drawings can exceed the vector extraction limits; an ASCII DXF export is the better starting point when PDF extraction cannot recover the required linework.
Review what belongs in the estimate.
Check the imported layers, project revision and measured boundaries. Avoid counting reference linework, notes or superseded details as construction scope. Confirm quantities against a few manual checks before adding them to the bid package.
